Thalassa's Early Beginnings
Thalassa's brand started in 1985, as a small travel agency in Ostend, Belgium. The founders had a vision: bringing happiness to travellers by providing them seamlessly organized trips, letting their guests discover every corner of the world with peace of mind of a smooth journey.
Born & raised by the sea, a sailor himself, the owner longed for letting people taste the life on the water. Soon Thalassa Cruises became a partner for over 30 cruiselines. Selling cruise packages to a selection of qualtiy travel agencies and to many individual cruise guests. Whether travelling solo, with family or friends, looking for a big family resort ship or an ultra boutique cruise experience, any party is welcomed with the same enthousiasm!​
Expanding Thalassa's Horizon
While the son was taking care of the marketing department, the daughter of the owners, dove into the group department in 2011. Loving to create tailormade journeys for like-minded people, she brought life to "SelectTogether Cruises", a brand with brochure focussing on Dutch escorted group tours for individual travellers.
With a growing demand for small groups, families and organizations asking for tailormade journeys, the group journey department brought her closer to river cruiselines and yachting companies, discovering the world of slowtravel and small ship cruising.

It was time to spread her wings & expand Thalassa's horizon. Thalassa Yachting Experts, was born in 2025, thanks to the one, sharing the dream. Symbolically 40 years after her hardworking parents had started their own business.
